CALLING ACTORS, WRITERS, DIRECTORS!

Published on Friday, February 4th, 2011 | Source:

We are looking for your energy and enthusiasm to help develop a night of new and original short plays!

after hours@dwt is a new and experimental night of performances featuring the talents of deaf and hard of hearing writers and directors, with deaf, hard of hearing, and/or hearing cast members.

Deaf and hard of hearing WRITERS will write and submit any number of original ten-minute plays. Three plays will be selected from the submissions to be paired up with deaf and hard-of-hearing DIRECTORS who will help further develop the stories and will select their respective ACTORS for their cast. These ACTORS may take part in shaping the plays, with the guidance of the DIRECTOR and WRITER. The plays will then be shown – late night – for audiences this March following The Adventures of Pinocchio – hence, “after hours!” After the the performance, we will have a quick Q&A and feedback session plus have time to socialize with the artists involved.

There is no limit to what you can do—if you want to be a WRITER, DIRECTOR, and ACTOR, you are welcome to apply to all three categories!

FOR WRITERS (must be Deaf or Hard-of-hearing)
FOR DIRECTORS (must be Deaf or Hard-of-hearing)
FOR ACTORS (Deaf, Hard-of-hearing, or Hearing all welcome)

To apply or for more information, go to http://deafwest.org/productions/afterhours.html.
Please read the guidelines and deadlines carefully.

RESERVE YOUR TICKET: For those who want to attend the show. These performances are FREE but reservations are encouraged. Go to website above.
