Flutters Inc’s Social Butterfly debuts as a Fashion and Humanitarian Statement
New designer handbag line gives proceeds to assist in providing resources for the Deaf and hard of hearing communities.
(ATLANTA, GA) – Flutters Inc., an original high fashion designer handbag company, chooses its initial Social Butterfly organization to bring awareness to the issues and challenges facing America’s Deaf and hard of hearing communities through a compelling Public Service Announcement entitled“ Waiting” which can be seen at www.fluttersinc.com or www.gladinc.org.
“Waiting” was inspired by Flutters Inc.’s founder, Vanessa Wilkinson’s interests and desire for creating change through awareness and social responsibility. The message highlights the importance of having public accommodations that provide effective communication for individuals who are Deaf or hard of hearing.
She stated, “There are several areas in our everyday lives as hearing individuals that we take for granted. These areas are experienced differently amongst the Deaf and hard of hearing communities. We as a people need to be aware of situations that occur around us, even if we are not directly affected by them.”
The Social Butterfly movement identifies organizations whose mission is supporting and advocating for biological, social, or psychological issues. Each season, the Social Butterfly movement selects a handbag in which proceeds from the sale of this bag will benefit that identified organization. The Greater Los Angeles Agency of Deafness, Inc. is the 2011 Summer Social Butterfly organization.
“Waiting” was made possible through the collaboration of Flutters, Inc., Bliss Enterprises, and The Art Institute of Wisconsin. For more information about Social Butterfly visit www.fluttersinc.com.
